About Professor Arif Khurshed:

Arif Khurshed is a Professor of Finance at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. He graduated from the University of Delhi and received his PhD from the University of Reading.

Arif has taught corporate finance for more than 20 years and is known for his academic and professional work on Initial Public Offerings, venture capital and share repurchase programmes.

Arif is passionate about teaching financial literacy to children and young adults. He has published his research in several leading finance journals and has authored a book on ‘The mechanics and performance of initial public offerings’. His research has been widely covered by the national and international press. On several occasions he has provided expert comments to the BBC and other media outlets.

Arif has been an external consultant to the UK stock market regulator, The Financial Conduct Authority (formerly FSA) and the British Venture Capital Association (BVCA). He is on the editorial board of the British Accounting Review.
