As the covid-19 crisis continues to unfold, projections are being revised, companies are dealing with massive transformations in their sectors and governments are on the offensive. These all reflect that 2020 will be defined by the covid-19 outbreak.

In his MENA Business Outlook presentation, Walid Namane, an analyst from Emerging Markets Intelligence & Research (EMIR), will identify the potential future trajectories of the covid-19 outbreak, provide insights on its impact on key markets and businesses in the Middle East and analyse the Gulf states' government policy measures to cope with the low oil prices.  
 

About the Speaker: Walid Namane

Walid provides economic and geopolitical risk analysis on North Africa and the Middle East for EMIR. He also undertakes bespoke consultancy engagements for EMIR’s clients in the region. Prior to joining EMIR, Walid worked as a political risk analyst for two UAE based advisory firms where he managed consulting and research projects, and produced intelligence reports on the economic and geopolitical dynamics in the region.

Walid is currently completing his PhD thesis at the Center for Diplomatic and Strategic Studies in Paris on the role of Political Islam in the Turkish foreign policy in the Middle East. He has written extensively on the region’s geopolitical challenges and is a native Arabic and French speaker.
