Educational Leadership for a Changed World - Abu Dhabi
Educational leadership for a changed world; can International Schools make the World a Better Place?
This presentation will be highly relevant to teachers, teacher leaders, and professional staff in international schools as it deals with the age of the Anthropocene and the implications of climate and knowledge crises upon schools, colleges and nurseries in the 21st Century.
The focus of enquiry is on the future of international education and its role in preparing privileged and empowered citizens and consumers for a changed world.
The presentation draws upon the recent special issue (Can the IB make the world a better place?) in the journal Globalisation Societies and Education, along with research and scholarship into the IB, international schools and educational leadership.
The theoretical framework is derived from the upcoming Routledge book 'Combating Global Climate and Knowledge Crises through Sustainable Educational Leadership' – correspondingly, this presentation will illuminate, probe, challenge and question our notions of international education, its leadership and its suitability or potential in protecting our world.
