Sustainability and sustainable finance has moved up the agenda of corporate managers, policymakers and regulators over the past decade, most visibly through the adoption of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategies and the rise of a new sustainable finance movement. This lecture will explore the progress and current landscape of ESG and sustainable finance, and how the phenomena of financialization presents a particular set of challenges for corporate managers, policymakers, and regulators in adopting ESG strategies.
